>>> i'm veronica de la cruz. we're keeping a close eye on hurricane sandy. it's making its presence known along the eastern seaboard. it has a long way to go before it's gone. the center of the storm is expected to be along the mid-atlantic coast. outages are expected to impact hls of residents on the east coast. airlines have already canceled thousands of flights with more expected. let's bring in meteorologist bill karins with the latest on the track of the storm. >> the hurricane center just gave us their brand new 2:00 a.m. advisory. keeping it a hurricane. 75 mile per hour winds. the storm is no longer heading to the east. it's heading due north and is starting to take that hook back to the left. taking it towards new jersey, new york city and southern new england. a heavy band of rain remains along the coast much as we go throughout the morning hours, the heavy rain will spread further inland to the washington, d.c., baltimore area and eventually towards new york city and philadelphia. winds are still in the 30 to 40 miles per hour range along the coast, not bad inland. many p
